About BPC Energy Team:

The Bipartisan Policy Center’s Energy Program works to craft and advocate pragmatic, evidence-based federal policies to support the United States’ transition toward a cleaner, low-carbon energy mix while sustaining economic growth.

About the Role:

The Spring 2026 Intern will collaborate with BPC’s Energy Project team, contributing to analysis, research, event planning, communications, congressional monitoring, and administrative support. The intern may support work in areas including decarbonization, energy innovation, infrastructure, permitting modernization, and carbon capture.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis on energy policy topics such as net-zero frameworks, decarbonization, innovation, and permitting.
  • Assist with event planning and coordination.
  • Monitor news, congressional activity, and relevant legislation.
  • Draft blog posts, memos, and other communications deliverables.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Collaborate with project analysts and staff across tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or be a recent graduate.
  • Rising juniors or above are preferred.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication ability.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Genuine interest in energy, climate, and environmental policy issues.
  • Non-U.S. citizens may apply but must hold a valid work permit; no visa sponsorship is offered.

Program Structure & Compensation:

Interns work full time for 10 weeks and receive a stipend of USD 3,000. The internship is conducted in person in Washington, D.C.
