About the Role:

The **Online Community Manager** will be the bridge between GoodParty’s community (candidates, elected officials, and supporters) and its mission. You will lead programs, content, and engagement strategies that drive real political impact and grow community participation.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and moderate the community platform (Circle), including onboarding, member support, audits, and optimization.
  • Respond to posts and direct messages with a customer-service mindset.
  • Create and maintain content calendars and project management systems to ensure regular, high-quality programming.
  • Coordinate live events (trainings, AMAs, panels), including promotion, facilitation, recordings, and follow-ups.
  • Develop at least two new courses per quarter to serve as educational tools and conversion funnels.
  • Offer feedback on community content, video formats, and course enhancements to improve engagement and completion rates.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for growth, retention, and member conversion.
  • Collaborate with Growth and Marketing teams to attract and convert new community members.
  • Identify and cultivate community leaders, contributors, and mentors.
  • Align community programming with campaign milestones by working cross-functionally with Marketing and Mobilization teams.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in community management, preferably in mission-driven or tech-enabled organizations.
  • Proven experience leading a community of at least 3,000 active members (5,000–10,000+ preferred).
  • Track record converting community engagement into product adoption or program enrollment.
  • Strong skills in content strategy, automation, workflow design, and experimentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; experience creating digital community content.
  • Analytical, growth-oriented, data-driven, curious, and eager to try new ideas.
  • “Marketer brain” with storytelling acumen, user journey insight, and aesthetic sense.
  • Empathy, patience, inclusivity, and ability to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in community platforms (Circle preferred), CRMs (HubSpot preferred), and project management tools (ClickUp preferred).
  • Bonus: experience scaling communities to 10,000+ members, content creation chops (video, visuals), background in politics/democracy reform.
