Field Director at Field Forward Ohio

About the Role:

The Field Director will oversee all aspects of managing successful field programs for
Field Forward Ohio, an Ohio-based engagement firm focused on voter engagement, registration,
petition collection, canvass programs, and door-to-door campaign work. Reporting directly to the
State Director, the Field Director will manage multi-layered teams—including Regional Field
Directors, canvassers, and office managers—to achieve program goals while fostering long-term
community power.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute statewide strategic field plans to reach targeted voters effectively.
• Set clear hiring, voter registration, and door-knocking goals; hold staff accountable for progress.
• Manage and support Regional Field Directors and local office staff across multiple layers.
• Collaborate with the Data team to generate user-friendly reports for staff and canvassers.
• Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure message accuracy and data integrity.
• Oversee hiring, training standards, background checks, and compliance with field protocols.
• Foster a diverse, inclusive, and respectful work culture while promoting internal leadership.
• Maintain a safe and positive work environment for all staff.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5–7 years of direct field experience with strong management skills.
• Experience managing hourly staff and canvassing operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, BLOCKS, VAN, MiniVAN, and Google Workspace.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals at all organizational levels.
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions under pressure.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, salaried position based in Columbus, Ohio. Salary range:
$85,000 – $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits include health and dental insurance, vacation, and retirement match after one year.
The role requires extensive in-state and some national travel, with frequent evenings and weekends.
Candidates must reside in Columbus, hold a valid driver’s license, have access to a reliable insured
vehicle, and maintain a personal cell phone.
