Position Summary

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic governors, is seeking an Events Assistant. This role is integral to the entire fundraising and events team, primarily handling administrative tasks and managing event preparation for in-person and virtual DGA fundraising events and policy conferences. The position assists in the day-to-day operations of the DGA’s fundraising programs and supports all members of the finance and events team. This position requires frequent travel, including occasional weekend travel, and reports directly to the Events Director.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation for and on-site management of virtual and in-person DGA fundraising events and policy conferences.
  • Prepare briefing materials for all members of the finance team, as needed.
  • Contribute to the production of all DGA events materials and invitations.
  • Create and maintain websites and email blasts.
  • Collaborate with other finance assistants to interview, select, and manage DGA finance interns and oversee their projects.
  • Maintain and update the events team calendar and assist with scheduling as needed.
  • Take detailed notes during internal and external calls.
  • Assist with other assignments and tasks as requested by all members of the finance and events team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work long and non-traditional work hours, including weekends, due to frequent travel.
  • A strong capacity to work both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience

  • Event organizing experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Cvent or other event management platforms is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with MailChimp or other email marketing platforms is preferred but not required.

Work Schedule and Location

The DGA offices are based in downtown Washington, DC. This is a Hybrid position; the Events Assistant is expected to coordinate with the Events Director for an in-office work schedule that will likely include 3 to 4 days of in-office work per week.

The duties and demands of this job require in-person work at the DGA’s offices.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position is $60,000 before benefits and applicable withholdings. This position comes with a comprehensive package, including:
