Position Overview

Title: Community Engagement Associate
Organization: WorkMoney, Inc.
Reporting to: Pennsylvania State Director
Term: Temporary, Full-Time, Exempt (requires U.S. work authorization)

This position is a field-based ambassador role for WorkMoney, Inc. — dedicated to helping Americans improve their financial well-being. The Community Engagement Associate will serve as the first familiar face of WorkMoney in key Western Pennsylvania communities, expanding the organization’s regional presence by turning community touchpoints into measurable engagement outcomes.

This is a hands-on, field-heavy role that requires frequent local travel (more than 75%) and may involve evenings and weekends. The role is project-based and expected to last approximately six months, subject to program needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent WorkMoney at community events, introducing residents to WorkMoney and the MoneyFinder tool while securing new member opt-ins.
  • Deliver a consistent and inclusive WorkMoney brand experience in all community interactions.
  • Identify opportunities for WorkMoney to connect with communities in authentic, culturally relevant ways.
  • Identify high-potential members who can serve as community ambassadors and event participants.
  • Capture and report on economic topics and local issues that could inform campaign strategies.
  • Engage members in 1:1 channels (online and offline) to amplify their voices on issues related to financial well-being.
  • Report accurate quantitative and qualitative data and maintain records in CRM systems.
  • Assist with event planning and execution as needed.
  • Attend weekly calls, meetings, and training sessions.

Requirements

Must Haves

  • Prior experience in member services, volunteer coordination, community organizing, or as a brand ambassador.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Reside in Western Pennsylvania and able to travel extensively across the region.
  • Reliable access to transportation and valid U.S. driver’s license in good standing.
  • Roadworthy personal vehicle with active registration and insurance meeting or exceeding state minimums.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a union position subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement with IBEW Local 89. The starting annual salary for this position is $82,000, and as part of WorkMoney’s commitment to pay transparency and equity, this salary is non-negotiable.
