What We’re Looking For:

We are hiring a Business Development Director to lead Electica’s US market expansion and revenue growth. This senior role drives multi-million dollar client relationships while building scalable sales infrastructure. The position requires hands-on sales execution, strategic business development, political industry knowledge, and proven sales leadership.

The role is fully remote, but team members are expected to attend in-person retreats twice a year. Previous retreat locations include Spain, Los Angeles, Dublin, and Jamaica. We encourage applicants who may not meet every requirement but are eager to learn and grow with us.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Client Success, the Business Development Director will drive US market expansion and revenue growth, managing immediate revenue targets and long-term lead development across programmatic advertising and self-serve platform offerings.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales (90%):
    • Revenue Ownership: Drive $10M+ in new business acquisition
    • Market Strategy: Develop and execute outreach/sales strategies for US client segments
    • Sales Processes: Operate within existing sales processes from prospecting to closing
    • Competitive Positioning: Lead competitive intelligence and differentiation strategies
    • Product/Service Feedback: Liaise with product teams for enhancements
    • Proposal Oversight: Ensure proposals meet client needs
    • Performance Reporting: Report on sales performance, pipeline, and market insights
    • International Coordination: Align US strategies with EU/UK/Canada operations
  • Relationship Management (10%):
    • Strategic Account Engagement: Nurture top-tier client relationships
    • Executive Relationship Building: Develop C-suite and senior strategist connections
    • Crisis Management: Handle sensitive client situations during high-stakes campaigns

Required Experience & Expertise:

  • Must Have:
    • 7+ years in US political campaigns, advocacy, or political technology
    • Strong network of decision-makers
    • Firm understanding of digital advertising for political campaigns
    • Familiarity with FEC compliance and state-level regulations
    • 5+ years managing $1M+ deals in political/advocacy sales
    • Proven revenue accountability in competitive markets
  • Nice to Have:
    • Senior campaign or agency experience
    • International campaign or advocacy experience
    • Spanish language capability for Latino outreach
